These Wooden Chess Pieces (board pad not included) are made from vintage wood. Thirty (30) of the pieces are characterized by tight grain with 37 rings visible. Those pieces are estimated to be from pre-1948 lumber. Two (2) of the pawns are not so vintage and only have a loose grain of 10 rings visible. The prices on each chess piece is based on the number of rings. More rings, higher price. Less rings, lower price. Light pieces are stained with Minwax Natural while the Dark pieces are stained with Minwax Cherry. King and Queen are 3” tall and cut at approx. 42° while the pawns are 2” tall and cut at approx. 23.4°.
